The camp offers an all-inclusive experience with meals, extended care, and all materials provided, set on the campus of Haverford College.
DEAN's Innovation Lab Camp is a STEAM-focused day camp where campers engage in hands-on projects that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Campers design Rube Goldberg–style chain reaction machines, learn coding concepts, program robots to complete challenges, and construct imaginative structures using various materials like wood, foam, and 3D pens. The curriculum is adapted for different age groups, progressing from foundational skills to more complex challenges. Campers develop design thinking, engineering principles, construction techniques, and technical abilities while safely operating age-appropriate tools. The program also fosters collaboration, resilience, and perseverance through trial and error, encouraging campers to ask questions and explore new ideas. By the end of each session, campers take home their creations, gaining confidence in their problem-solving skills and ability to turn ideas into reality.
A typical day includes flexible drop-off and breakfast, a morning assembly, two activity periods with a snack break, lunch and recess, an afternoon activity period, another snack, and a community celebration before flexible pick-up.
This camp is ideal for curious and creative campers who enjoy hands-on projects and want to develop problem-solving, engineering, and design thinking skills within a STEAM framework.
