Students work on hands-on, real-world AI projects under the guidance of mentors from top universities, culminating in a group project.
The Veritas AI - AI Trailblazers program is a virtual, project-based camp designed for middle school students to learn the fundamentals of Python programming and key concepts in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Over 25 hours, students engage in interactive coding sessions and lectures, covering topics such as data analysis, regression models, image classification, neural networks, and AI ethics. The program culminates in a group project where students apply their acquired skills to build real-world AI models. Past projects have included creating a machine-learning model to classify music genres or developing an algorithm to generate a custom list of educational resources. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and aims to build a strong foundation in AI concepts, preparing students for further studies in AI and computer science.
A typical day involves 1.5 hours of section lectures followed by a 1-hour group session with a 5:1 student to mentor ratio, totaling 2.5 hours per session.
This program is best for middle schoolers who want an early introduction to coding and AI concepts and are new to computer science.
