Students gain hands-on experience building and programming autonomous robots in a university electrical and computer engineering laboratory, guided by Temple faculty and students.
The Temple University Robotics Summer Program offers high school students an immersive, hands-on experience in robotics and electrical and computer engineering. Participants will learn to build and program autonomous mobile robots to perform various tasks such as obstacle avoidance, lane following, playing music, and dancing. The program emphasizes project-based learning in a state-of-the-art electronics laboratory, guided by Temple professors, graduate, and undergraduate students. Students will gain practical skills with sensors, motors, microcontrollers, and electrical components, and be introduced to visual programming with Makecode and object-oriented programming with Python. This program serves as an excellent introduction to a college program in electrical and computer engineering, fostering curiosity and problem-solving skills without homework.
A typical day involves morning and afternoon interactive class sessions, trips, studio time, or projects, with a break for lunch.
This program is best for high school students (rising 9th-12th graders) with any prior experience in STEM who are curious about robotics and electrical and computer engineering.

Philadelphia STEM Summer Camps is a free directory service that aggregates publicly available information about STEM programs, summer camps, and educational opportunities. We do not operate, sponsor, endorse, accredit, certify, or have any affiliation with the camps and programs listed here unless explicitly stated.
All program details — including pricing, session dates, instructor credentials, curriculum, safety policies, refund terms, transportation, meal arrangements, and admission requirements — are sourced from publicly available information and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Listings are partially generated and updated using automated AI-assisted research, which can occasionally produce inaccurate details. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for independently verifying every detail directly with the camp before enrolling, paying, or relying on any information shown here.
